NOTE • When the ignition is switched on, the tachometer needle will quickly sweep from zero to maximum and then return to zero. The instrument warning lights will illuminate and will then go off (except those which normally remain on until the engine starts - see 'Warning Lights' on page 39. It is not necessary to wait for the needle to return to zero before starting the engine.

Low Oil Pressure Warning Light
With the engine running, if the engine oil pressure becomes dangerously low, the low oil pressure warning light in the tachometer will illuminate. The low oil pressure warning light in the tachometer will illuminate if the ignition is switched on without running the engine.
High Coolant Temperature Warning Light
With the engine running, if the engine coolant temperature becomes dangerously high, the high coolant temperature warning light in the tachometer will illuminate. The high coolant temperature warning light in the tachometer will illuminate if the ignition is switched on without running the engine.
