Hey guys does anyone know how to tighten up some of the chain slack? I have a manual for my bike 07 S3 but it looks like I may need a special tool? Ive never tightened a chain on a bike before but I am pretty good at working on things so I was just wondering if it's a job I should do ( I hear theres alot of precise measurement involved?) and if so how.

Nothing precise about it.

You should have the tool needed in your small tool pack under the seat... if not, a flathead screwdriver + hammer will work.

There is a nut on your swingarm close to the rear sprocket. Loosen this, but do not remove.

That's what locks your chain tensioner in place. Now look just next to the sprocket, there will be a collar bolt that looks like what is on your rear shock for the preload, but only one of them, and it's much larger.

Turn it, it doesn't take much of a turn to tighten the chain. Turn it a little, check slack, when it's good tighten the bolt back down to lock it in place.

The SSSA bikes like slack to be a little on the loose side of things. Always better to be a little too loose than a little too tight.
