Bonneville Black vs. T100

With the sale of the D675, I now have the ability to get a new bike. I've been looking at the bonneville black for 6999 and the T100 for 7700. A dealer has a prmo going that you get $600 off t100 but not the bonneville black. Besides the tachometer, knee pads and tank color( if I got the t100, it would be the red and black) is there anything else that helps justify the extra 700?

I'm kinda torn though. I like the barebones look of the bonneville black, but I like seeing that splash of red on the tank and the knee pads and the tach of the t100. just don't know if its worth the extra money

thoughts?

What year are they?

I believe both bikes have the same engine starting in 2007.

I have not looked at the differences in a couple of years...but the T-100 had:

Painted tank and coach lines
Tach
Knee pads
Chrome engine covers
Adjustable clutch and brake levers
Upgraded tank badges (I'm not sure how this works on the 2008's)

If they both have the same engine now, than they probably have the same front sprocket, carb needles, and rev limiter. (These use to be different)

$600 off the T-100 or $1000 of the black. Get the Black...and get a centerstand.

The black ones are faster:D

Get the black - they are great. Definitely add the centrestand, add the kneepads, and add the tach if you like that (I do - I think it evens out the look of the front end, plus I like to see it anyway) and have yourself a jolly good time.

When I bought mine 3 weeks ago, I got the same prices as your getting and I was told the $600 rebate or $1000 worth of accessories don't apply to the black. They even showed me a memo from Triumph to prove it.

I really liked the black, but liked the T100 with all the extras a little better.

One thing I was a little concerned about on the blacked out engine was keeping the water (and other) spots off the black finish. I was warned about this by a couple people, not sure if it's a real problem or not.

Which dealer did you end up finding the 07's at? I know Colonial doesn't have any.

I had a T100 last year because I loved the black and white tank. The other perks? They really did not make much or a difference. One thing, however, is the absence of a tachometer on my new one - I do not miss it. I like the look of a single gauge, although what prompted Triumph to offset it is beyond me. Soon I will avail myself to one of D9's creations and do it right. I guess if you are a real motorhead a tach is good, but I rarely used it, relying on the sound of the motor instead. One more thing: the two color scheme pretty much locked me into the need of considering the those two colors with any additions I might add. My dealer had a left over black and red '07, but I went with the silver instead and do not regret it. [I would have gotten a black if they had one - they're faster]

i have a bblack and like the look better than the custom paint on the t100--i'm also not a huge fan of chrome everything. the extras on the t100 are nice, though. i just got knee pads and they make a big diff--the tach's nice, too.

if you get $1000 in accessories on the black i'd, personally, go that way and pick yrself up the tach, knee pads, maybe adj levers or centerstand.

The 07 bblack does have the 1000 bucks of accessories. I'm not a big fan of chrome everything either buy I like how the t100 has justh enough color for it to stand out and contrast nicely against the black. And I agree with with the tach. I think it looks better with two gauges centered instead of one offset

The 07 bblack does have the 1000 bucks of accessories.

If that's the case they should be willing to knock off the $600 as well. All the dealers told me that Triumph gave them $600 parts credit for the $1000 accessories, that's why they where willing to just drop the price $600.

I'd rather you get the black so when we go riding we're not on twin bikes ;)

I talked to every dealer within a 200 mile radius looking for an 07, 3 in Md, 3 in VA and 3 in NC. Only a couple had 07's left, only Fox's had a Black and 2 T100s. All of them wanted MSRP for the bike + shipping/setup charges, and either $1000 worth or accessories or $600 off. The shipping fee varied from $400 to $600, with Fox's being the lowest at $400, and they cut that in 1/2 for me.

Triumph must have added the black to the deal when they extended it on 4/1, because it was Fox's that told me it wasn't included.

Are you sure they have a black/red? They had a black/white and a black/red, along with the black when I bought mine, and I got the black/red.

I suggest you call back down there and ask for Richard, he's the owner and knows what's going on.

They didn't have the black/red. They have the bblack & the black/claret t100. When I initially called them, they said the bblack didn't get the 600 buck discount, only the t100 would.

I spent the better part of an hour on the phone with 3 dealers in NC, 4 in VA and 2 in MD. Fox's was the only place that had the bblack in stock. Winchester motorsports said they could get the bike from another dealer if needed.

Right now it looks like this: Get the t100, get the 600 discount + the 1000 deal for gear(just going on what people have told me) so out the door price would be somewhere around 8200-8300 if they had the 500-600 buck fees.

is the $1000 deal good for things like the TOR exhaust and clothes?

or

get the bblack w/o the 600 buck deal(some here say I should try to argue to get that in as well?) but get the 1000 buck deal and then get the tach, knee pads and other things with it. out the door price would be 7500-7600.

Does this sound right to y'all?

What exactly is the 600 dollar discount?

Either way make sure you have a tach. I got a Black and thought I was revving the pee-wadding out of it. Then I got the tach and found out I wasn't. I like my Black, but some of those T100 color schemes are tasee! The color I'm really flipping over is the "claret".

BUT I'm a basic black and string of pearls kinda guy.:Cigar:

gotcha.

well see with the t100, I'd rather have the 600 bucks off b/c I can't think of anything to add other than new exhaust.

with the bblack, I'd rather have the 1000 b/c I could get the tach and knee padsand maybe exhaust.

I just need to see if there are any black/red t100's in the vicinity of richmond/virginia

Recently Got My '07

I recently got an '07 Bonnie (in Goodwood Green).

Spend some time calling EVERY dealer listed in every state that you are willing to travel to.

I found LOTS of black & red T100s in the New England, NY, and NJ area.

At least five. Two or three black & white T100s, as well. A couple of 2007 Silvers, too.

There was a dealer in Massachusetts that was willing to sell me a Black & Red T100 for $7,700 (out the door). That was about four weeks ago, though. Don't know if they still have it.

I did NOT find a single 2007 Bonnie BLACK, so if you found one -- then its probably the ONLY 2007 BLACK to be found.

I really wanted a 2007 BLACK, but I could only find a 2008 (with the new tank and stick-on badges). Even the 2008 BLACKs are hard to find.

I'm extremely happy with the Goodwood Green, though.

I got my Goodwood for $6,849 Out The Door. No prep fee. No Destination charges.

Some dealers want to move their 2007 stock.

Take the time, call around, and you will save a chunk of change.

Sorry, if this sounds obvious, but I found a HUGE price disparity from dealer to dealer. Some dealers were asking the same price for 2007s as for New 2008s.

I hope you find what you are looking for.

Best of luck!
